Den Leader Instructions

PackMaster is the Cub Scout management system used by Pack 329.  DotNet is a PackMaster add-on product which allows the Pack to maintain a centralized database on our ftp site.  DotNet also allows each den leader to access their den’s live data (rather than a copy) to make advancement and scout personal data changes.  This is all done real-time so you are always accessing the most up-to-date data for the Pack.

To facilitate the efficient processing of advancements by the Pack and our council we ask that you have all advancement updates completed by the Wednesday evening prior to the Pack meeting.  The Friday morning before the Pack meeting our advancement data will be electronically uploaded to ScoutNet (A wide area network that electronically connects all local councils, regional offices, the National Distribution Center, the Center for Professional Development, and the national office) and the various advancements will be processed for presentation at the next Pack meeting.

IMPORTANT:  Before installing, please email the Pack 329 Advancement Chairman, Ray Crowell (raymond.crowell@lexisnexis.com), for passwords.  It is important that you receive these prior to attempting to install PackMaster.

To install PackMaster 2006

  1. Run the "Main Setup" program below.
  2. When asked for licensing information, enter the data shown below:



  3. When asked if you will be installing as a pack or den leader, enter the data as listed below:



  4. The installation will then ask for your data access password as in the dialog below.  This is the individual password given to you by the Advancement Chairman.



  5. Next, run the "Version Update" application below.
  6. Start PackMaster 2006 and choose the "PackMaster DotNet..." option from the file menu as in the menu below:



  7. Next, enter all of the information exactly as below.  The password is the one given to you by the Advancement Chair.


  8. That's it.  The software should contact the FTP server to download your specific den data or other data as required.
